The press control system type ePrAX®modular is a modular hydraulic servo drive for controlling the ram’s cylinder movements in CNC press brakes. Changes in cylinder rate and position are managed by means of a controlled servomotor separately for each cylinder through combination with dedicated drive controllers. All required components can be put together from a modular kit.

For each axis, a servomotor handles control of approach and power strokes as well as bending force. Return stroke is powered in part using temporarily stored hydraulic energy. This allows high dynamism with considerable energy savings and shorter cycles. At the same time, the individually adjusted rotation speed substantially reduces the press brake’s drive noise.
