Pitot-static tube

Slim, cylindrical measuring device for simultaneous recording of static pressure perpendicular to the direction of the flow and total pressure along the direction of the flow. The pitot-static tube is a combination of a pitot tube (angled tube) and a static pressure probe. As such, it has an opening at the front (pressure point) and a round slot at the side (Figure P 15). Separate lines divert both pressure elements towards the outside, where the pressure difference is able to emerge. This difference between total and static pressure can be used to infer the flow velocity. The pitot-static tube is only slightly dependent on direction.
